Diabetes Buzz Day, the annual fundraising event for Diabetes Australia-NSW, will be held on Friday, 19 September and in the next few weeks more than 200,000 flashing pens, torch keyrings, magnetic badges and Buzz Bees will sent out to selected retail outlets across the nation to help fight diabetes.
The merchandise will be sold at the selected retail outlets and Sydney railway stations on Diabetes Buzz Day.
The annual fundraising event is the biggest appeal by Diabetes Australia-NSW and aims to raise $400,000 for vital diabetes awareness, education, research and advocacy programs.
There will be plenty of opportunities for people to buy merchandise and help the campaign.
While 19 September is the date that Buzz Day flashing pens, torch keyrings, magnetic badges and buzz bees merchandise will be sold at railways stations, they will be available throughout September at Best & Less, Blooms The Chemist, Medicare (NSW and ACT), National Pharmacies, Pharmacist Advice, Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Soul Pattinson Chemist, Terry White Chemists and Tony Ferguson.
The ever popular Bee Dogs, Peeper’s Bees and the new Bee Bear will be available online at www.buzzday.com.au!
Diabetes Australia-NSW is also appealing for volunteers to help sell Buzz Day merchandise at Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St Leonards, Parramatta and Martin Place stations. Merchandise will also be sold at the QVB and Pitt St forecourts and Martin Place.
This is the eighth consecutive year for Diabetes Buzz Day and is made possible through the generous support of official sponsor, Toll Priority and other retail supporters.
Diabetes Australia-NSW is a non-profit, non-government organisation, which relies heavily on community support to continue its programs that help thousands of people with diabetes every year.
For more information regarding Diabetes Buzz Day and volunteering, call Diabetes Australia-NSW on 1300 136 588 or visit www.buzzday.com.au.
Help us achieve our mission to serve the best interests of all people affected by diabetes, to identify the undiagnosed and to research, prevent and cure diabetes.
